Ok, so here's the situation - an immense challenge was issued to our users to coincide with the launch of our Social Networking groups on MySpace and Facebook.

 

"5000 friends or bust!" we said.

 

Daunting?  Surely.  Feasible?  Absolutely.

 

To hit that goal in less than 3 1/2 weeks we enticed our users with the promise of 3 consecutive days of Double EXP should the task be accomplished.  With a few days remaining to the deadline, however, victory seemed out of reach as we were still short by 12%!

 

OBAH:  "At this rate they'll never hit 5000!"

 

DVORAK:  "Have faith.  Our users always manage to surprise us, somehow."

 

OBAH:  "Stop drinking the kool-aid!  How about a friendly wager?  If the community achieves the goal I'm willing to give them 1 extra day making it 4 days total."

 

DVORAK (grinning): "You're on!"

 

OBAH: "But!  If they fall short you will buy me lunch, sharpen my pencils with a straight edged razor, and remove the blue M&M's from my 5 pound bag for an entire week!"

 

DVORAK (gulps): "uhm........ok.........deal......."

 

Long story short - Mission Accomplished!  Thanks to a great last minute effort from you all we were able to achieve that 5000+ target ahead of schedule.  As Obah (the doubting Thomas) promised, thanks to his 'friendly' wager the 3 day bonus has been extended to 4 days.

 

This free bonus will go in effect starting on Thursday, September 3rd at 10 p.m. (Pacific Time) and will last ALL the way through Monday, September 7th at 10 p.m. (Pacific Time).

3. If you haven't jumped aboard the train, please join our MySpace and Facebook groups.  Our Social Networks will be updated regularly and typically will feature advance news and hints on things to come!  At the very least stop by and drop us a friendly 'hello' we're always happy to interact with our users outside of the game!

 

4. Cancel any appointments/engagements/dates/errands that were previously scheduled between Sept 3-7.  Stay home, save money, and power level like a crazed junkyard dog!
