With the release of Patch #94 on Wednesday, Novembmer 18 an upgrade was made to the Makeover Box that many of you probably have not yet noticed!
The Makeover Box now provides additional face options for Arden characters only (we hope to introduce additional options for Humans and Balo at a later date). Specifically, new EAR and TAIL options that are not available when creating a new character!

Jade Dynasty Ascension has arrived (or just around the corner, depending on when you're reading this) - but first things first. If you've been living beneath a rock for the past 4 weeks and have no clue what Ascension (Expansion) is please take a looksie at THIS PAGE.
In order to upgrade our current version of Jade Dynasty to the Expansion we will be taking our servers offline on Thursday, November 12 at the following server times:

Do keep in mind that due to various technical complexities there is a chance that this maintenance may be extended beyond the scheduled 3 hours. We apologize in advance should any delays occur and ask that you remain patient! ^_^
Upon resumption of game service your client will download and install a rather massive patch (more than several hundred megabytes in size). Those of you who'd like to get a headstart on the process can manually download the patch from THIS PAGE (note: not yet available).

These slender seals pack quite the wallop if the name of your game involves maxing out your Skyblade's proficiency:

Are you both fearless and reckless enough to handle riding astride this beast of beasts? The Stygian Hunter is renowed across the lands for being a true predator in every sense of the word, but what truly distinguishes this hellcat from all others comes down to one factor - speed!
The Stygian Hunter is Jade Dynasty's fastest mount currently available. While the common folk trot along at a leisurely pace of 6.0 speed, owners of the Stygian Hunter will blaze through all environs at a 6.1 breakneck velocity! Not only is this mount a creature of pure beauty and ferocious elegance - in the thrill of the hunt and speed of the chase every second counts and those mounted aboard one of these will ALWAYS come out ahead!

September 15 marks the 3 month anniversary of the Open Beta launch of Jade Dynasty and with that, we are pleased to announce the latest addition to our server family, Wildlands!
Wildlands is also our first ever, PvP only server. Those of you who enjoy the unpredictible, unbridled nature of gameplay on a PvP server will find plenty of new challenges and drama to keep you constantly on your toes.
Wildlands will open its gates to the public, shortly after 6 p.m. Pacific Time, this Thursday (September 17). To access Wildlands please select it through the "East Coast" server options.
But wait! There's more!!
Any Jade Dynasty player who reaches a minimum level of 60 prior to 10 a.m. (Pacific) on Thursday, September 17 will be granted EARLY access to this server from 1 p.m. through 5 p.m. (Pacific Time) that Thursday! If you plan on leveling up a new PvP character, and already have level 60+ characters on other servers be sure to take advantage of this early window to reserve your preferred name or get a nice little leveling advantage before the gates are opened up the masses.

Attention to the kind and gentle folk of the most tranquil of all servers known as Wildlands. As we've promised earlier - we will soon retroactively award your server with the 4 days of FREE double EXP that was previously awarded to the other 3 servers thanks to our concluded Social Network promotion!
This time around though we've decided to spice things up a bit effectively giving Wildlands 6 consecutive days of FREE double EXP! Here are the low and dirty details on how this EXP Bonanza will play out:
WHEN: Double EXP will be activated on the Wildlands server starting at 3 a.m. Server time on Tuesday, October 27. This Double EXP bonus will be in effect until 3 a.m. on Monday, November 2nd! Effectively this will give you 144 hours of FREE Double EXP!!!

Jade Dynasty's first ever GM sponsored Raffle has come to a close and what a success its been! The response and level of participation across this 24-hora event was bigger than even our most optimistic projections!
As promised, the ol' super computer was recently dusted off and fired up to process THOUSANDS of unique transactions to randomly select 5 winners per server.
As a recap, the original event was announced HERE!
Anyone who purchased at least 1 Raffle 'pill' directly from Obah's Monkey Shop was directly placed into a database for prize consideration. Those who purchased more than 1 pill were given additional entries into the prize pool. Our recent batch of winners across all servers ranged from those who purchased 1 pill all the way up to whooping 200!
Prizes (per server) are the following:
First Place: Your choice of a HORNCLOP mount or the yet to be released pet - Hellfire Inferno. PLUS - a 15% cut of all the Gold collected from your server for this raffle.

For their first ever volunteer community service, the GM's have agreed to spend their free time (as well as personal funds) to offer a FREE +1 Refinement boost to any and all players within the following parameters.

Remember, you must first get your gear to +5 to take advantage of this service. Once your gear is ready to go you may mail them to the following in-game mail addresses on your respective servers:
EventA, EventB, EventC, etc, all the way to EventZ.
Do keep in mind that each mailbox has a message limit of 32. If EventA is full, the system will notify you on this while you attempt to send it out. In this case, move on down to the next address in this case = EventB.
In the event that everything down to EventZ is full, we have created an overflow set of mail adressess starting with:
EventAA, EventBB, EventCC, etc, all the way to EventVV
I highly, highly recommend that each and every one of you take advantage of this generous service offered by our GM's. Getting a free, guaranteed +1 increase on gear above +5 is no joke! The increase in the item's base stats is truly what separates the Beasts from the mice!

Ok, so here's the situation - an immense challenge was issued to our users to coincide with the launch of our Social Networking groups on MySpace and Facebook.
"5000 friends or bust!" we said.
Daunting? Surely. Feasible? Absolutely.
To hit that goal in less than 3 1/2 weeks we enticed our users with the promise of 3 consecutive days of Double EXP should the task be accomplished. With a few days remaining to the deadline, however, victory seemed out of reach as we were still short by 12%!
OBAH: "At this rate they'll never hit 5000!"
DVORAK: "Have faith. Our users always manage to surprise us, somehow."
OBAH: "Stop drinking the kool-aid! How about a friendly wager? If the community achieves the goal I'm willing to give them 1 extra day making it 4 days total."
DVORAK (grinning): "You're on!"
OBAH: "But! If they fall short you will buy me lunch, sharpen my pencils with a straight edged razor, and remove the blue M&M's from my 5 pound bag for an entire week!"
DVORAK (gulps): "uhm........ok.........deal......."
Long story short - Mission Accomplished! Thanks to a great last minute effort from you all we were able to achieve that 5000+ target ahead of schedule. As Obah (the doubting Thomas) promised, thanks to his 'friendly' wager the 3 day bonus has been extended to 4 days.
This free bonus will go in effect starting on Thursday, September 3rd at 10 p.m. (Pacific Time) and will last ALL the way through Monday, September 7th at 10 p.m. (Pacific Time).

Friendly Tips:

Here's the skinny - our rookie, greenhorn GM's have just finished a stint in PWE's notorious octagon of death, aka, "Pet Boot Camp." After toughing it out, they've skilled up their pets to hold their own against butterflies and bullfrogs but its time to give them some new competition against fresh meat!
That's where YOU come in!
This Friday, August 14 - gather up at the specified time and locales and for a 1 hour period (per server) our GM's will bust out their pets and challenge all who dare step forth for some pet on pet battle action!
Here 'tis the dirty deets.....
WHO: your pet vs. GM's pet
WHAT: Be at the specified locale at the specified time and date. Have your pet out and displayed. For 1 hour, 3 GM's will visit each server and challenge your pet to a fight!
WHERE: All servers, REALM 6 (PVE) just outside of Sunstream City. Sunstream East to be precise...
WHEN: Friday, August 14 at the following times... SHURA = 8-9 p.m. server time (11 a.m. Pacific Time) BILLOWS = 6-7 p.m. server time (3 p.m. Pacific) DOOM BOG = 6-7 p.m. server time
WHY: Our GM's need more practice to strengthen up their pet skillz!
HOW: Be there, or be square! Have your pets out and ready to go. GM's will randomly challenge willing participants to a duel. If you accept, attack with your pet only(!) and attack the GM's pet ONLY (unless you have a death wish, lol). If you manage to defeat the GM's pet; or give it a good fight; or were a good sport - you will receive some type of PRIZE (good stuff too, especially pertaining to pets!).
Whether or not you feel your pet is up to snuff, show up anyway! you never know how nooby your GM opponent may be. Also, random prizes will be dropped during the event so show up anyway. Good times for all, indeed!

The very prospect of filling up our Social Networking pages (Facebook & MySpace) with all the friendly folk who are part of the Jade Dynasty Community makes us all giddy and giggly inside.
